Longest on the register

Photographers in|good standing

Members who have held a JPA number the longest with every renewal paid on time. Move over a name to bring it into focus; on a phone the name nearest the middle of the screen takes the focus by itself.

    Standing is counted from the year the committee first issued the number. A suspended member leaves this list until the office restores them.

    How verification works

    Four stages before a card is printed

    Membership is never automatic. Every application moves through the same stages at the association office in Ranchi.

    Application

    The photographer fills the membership form with studio details, districts covered and the kind of work they take.

    Papers checked

    Identity proof, studio address proof and sample work are matched against the form by the office staff.

    3

    Committee decision

    The committee approves or refuses. A refusal always carries a reason, and the photographer may apply again.

    Number and card

    An approved member gets a JPA number, a printed card and a place on this register, renewed every financial year.

    Cards run to 31 March. Renewal opens two months earlier so nobody is caught with an expired card in the wedding season.

    The association’s biggest three days: sessions, an equipment expo with free entry, and the blood donation camp.

    Before you write to us

    Questions the office answers most

    Any working photographer, studio or video team based in Jharkhand, with identity proof, proof of the studio address, and sample work. There is no minimum number of years.

    Most applications are decided within a month. Papers are checked at the office first, then the committee sits and records the decision with a reason.

    You are told the reason. Correct the paper that did not match and apply again — there is no waiting period and no limit on attempts.

    They type it into the check box on this page. It shows your name, studio, district, the kind of work you take, and the date your card runs to. Your mobile number is never shown.

    Every card runs to 31 March. Renewal opens on 1 February so you are never without a valid card during the wedding season.

    Yes. Entry to the mini expo is free for every visitor on all three days. Only the workshop sessions carry a fee, and members pay the member rate.
